The value of temperature-sensing technology received mainstream attention when pharma companies prepared to ship COVID-19 vaccines in 2020. The long-awaited vaccines needed to be stored and transported at ultra-cold temperatures because they’re unstable under ambient conditions. With so much riding on keeping vaccines viable, companies used temperature-sensing technologies to show vaccine shipments were safe and beneficial when they arrived at vaccine sites.
 
The visibility that temperature-sensing technologies received led healthcare providers to consider other ways these solutions could benefit their processes and their patients. That awareness has also created opportunities for healthcare value-added resellers (VARs) to expand their portfolios and grow their businesses by providing these solutions to pharmaceutical companies, distributors, and retailers; healthcare providers; and emergency responders.
